Taste of Marion

Every year at the end of the first week of school IWU hosts Taste of Marion. It gives churches and businesses all around Marion to come to the college and show themselves to the students. It is particularly good for the freshman so they can see all the things that are around school and it is great for finding churches to visit.

The thing that makes it really fun is all the hype about free stuff and giveaways and prizes. There is pizza and tons of pop and even a cotton candy machine this time. This year one booth was giving a way homemade pies in a raffle. Plus there are bikes and candles and coffee makers that you can win too. Also available are tons of cups and water bottles. You can basically be feed a meal by walking around and then take dessert home for later. It is pretty awesome but also overwhelming once everyone gets there.

Well today was the day and Becca and I got there right at 2pm when it starts and boy it did not disappoint. I ended up with 2 bags full of stuff, I picked up a bunch of things for Aaron, and there was still many tables I didn't visit. Becca cleaned house also because she kinda goes crazy when there is free stuff around :)

My spoils

This picture actually fits them all in. I still have a hard time taking free things. I know they are there giving it away but when I walk away with all this it just makes me feel like I'm stealing or something.

One can never have enough notebooks and dividers. I might be the only person who gets excited about this stuff :)

Wal-Mart gave away free contact and glasses cleaner and solution! AWESOME

The Health Center gave away razors for the young men... but I took one for me :) Guy razors are just better.

Soda Pop & Popcorn. Perfect.

Candy and Pens. They really go together when you are studying.

My Favorite thing. A WORLD BALLOON!

I mean really how neat is that?

IWU tumbler- pretty handy

I love Charlie Brown and the Meijer table was giving away free snoopy snacks :)

My other favorite. The operation Christmas Child table gave away these scripture memory boxes. I love this organization and the people were super sweet. This is a great take away and memorizing Scripture was something I prayed about last night as something I wanted to do for God and to minister better. Coincidence? Probably not :)
