Inspiration: Home Decor

So I was reading up on the blogs I follow yesterday evening and my friend Kik had a post with a link to a poster from Urban Outfitters I believe. Anyways I checked it out and it was a cool poster with the statement, "I want to go on adventures with you." I loved it immediately but I don't have moola to spend on it and it was kinda expensive for a poster.

So I saw a space that could be filled with a "poster"

The only mediums I had where some old popsicle sticks left over from a Christmas craft

and some kids paint :)

so I got my paint brushes

and tacky glue

and I started spelling :)

I have a hard time picking a color

I started with yellow

Then I changed my mind :)

I really am making a letter not a triangle

a craft of mine wouldn't be complete without glitter :)

almost done...

back to yellow

a little glitter...

now a LOT of glitter

poster putty  is how I attached it to the wall

not as durable or grown up as a posture but still just as fun and the empty space is gone :)
Our adventures have already started

Birthday!

Hooray for Birthday Cake!
My little brother's 16th birthday was this past Saturday and for a present Aaron and I made him a birthday cake. My dad always gets cakes from the store and has them scan a picture on it. We call them face cakes. Since Mattie has had plenty of face cakes I thought that he might like something a little silly from his big sister. So Aaron and I got the necessary ingredients and way too much sweet stuff and crafted our gift :)
Mmmm chocolate

Mix it up
Pour it out...

Scrape out the rest...

and eat it up :)

the rest is just icing on the cake... literally :)

massive block of chocolate

snow white :)

now the fun part begins...

it is starting to shape up, Mattie kind of looks like a person

Aaron fixing my messes :)

Starting the soccer ball which was very hard but I'm a rookie

Finesse

All Done!

He started throwing his wrapping paper at me because I took so many photos :)
Now we jump to present time and I promised Mattie I wouldn't put these on facebook so... I am doing the blog instead :) I can't help it I just love him.
Dad had an elaborate wrapping scheme. He triple wrapped every present and they were all inside a giant box.

a wallet for all his cash... yeah right ;)

by this point he was super amused all the layers so he decided to go really slow

Now he is hiding from me

and kicking me

and slapping

Mattie loves Justin Bieber

CAKE TIME!

I originally put in 18 candles. Ooops

Happy Birthday

I know he will hate me for doing this but I couldn't help it. He's so silly
