O Little Town of Pendleton

It's historical all right...because I was born and raised here :)
This is the start of a series of blogs about my hometown. These are just a few shots from an afternoon walk I took. Unfortunately it was a stormy day but I still got through the center of town and the park before the heavens opened up and it was a very nice time. I love home.
West State Street. Sweet old brick and little shops.

Pendleton Avenue heading to the park. More lovely brick buildings.
Pendleton Travel...Cool I wonder if they do have the best deals in town.
Neato hanging baskets all over downtown
I'm not sure about the deals but they do have pretty poppies outside their building
Entrance to the park. Great spot for reading and people watching...in a not creepy way.

An old pond/birdbath thing that has been there since I can remember.

Another great spot for reading. It is cool and quiet and relaxing.

My little squirrel friend who was talking to me while I was retreating to read and photograph.

I love Flowers

THE FALLS!! okay not that exciting but still :)

3:

1     are those good odds?

Duck Crossing

I enjoy this. Taking random photos

The lighthouses which is a landmark for Pendleton. It is on a ton of old collectors plates. Fun Fact :)

I used to plant flowers in here every spring in preschool. Ah those were the days.

Yay chucks!

I really love orange right now.

Another thing our town is famous for.
And the tree that made us famous for such a... memorable incident.

Brown

Green

The bridge where I got engaged :) happy happy day!!

This slide is the epitome of my childhood

This slide separated the boys from the men. Or in my case the little girls who acted like boys from the  little girls who wore dresses to preschool everyday :)

sweet little shop and eatery in town. Very popular but unfortunately I have never been.

I can't explain it to you but I LOVE this doorknob. My home town is full of perfect little treasures such as these.

Pendleton. Falls Park, the place of my youth. Part 1. The END

Adventures in Babysitting

So i tried very hard to find a job this summer but to my dismay after 10 attempts and 10 rejections I figured I would just be a homebody until the wedding. THEN thanks to my great friend Emily (Embee) I got a job babysitting two wonderful kids. I have always babysat for actual babies and unfortunately I don't do poopie diapers. It just isn't good.

Cameron is 9, soon to be 10 and Lizzy is 6, soon to be 7. They are typical brother and sister. Cameron enjoys Lizzy's pain and Lizzy loves to scream at him for breathing. Some days go better than others but I have really enjoyed getting to be their sitter. They are real cool and they have an awesome house and surrounding land. Lizzy and I went exploring a bit today since it was overcast. This is our documentation.

Stairs that lead out from the sun room... The adventure (yes a pretty lame one but never the less an adventure) BEGINS!
Pretty Flower :)

Some ivy I thought was cool a random boat and a weeping willow...

Is anybody Home? I guess the birdies went out for a stroll.

FAIRIES

Just Swingin'

Flora

There is a spider web there if you look closely

This is the comfy green chair in the sun room that I love to sit and read in while the kids are busy doing their own things. That is the great thing about older kids, they can entertain themselves.

Old Fashion details in the lovely farm house.

Icredibly cool looking old Bibles

I really like this doorknob

I just really liked these 2 things together for some reason
I just thought these random items were very neato.

Cameron. He is only smiling because I told him I would give him a Popsicle. Manipulation works

Mancala. The kids taught me yesterday and I LOVE it!
This is what happens to Lizzy after a game of Mancala and a long day of running around taking pictures of everything :)
